New York City residents now can sign up for new ID card. Immigration does not matter!! is the new, free identification card for all New York City residents. IDNYC benefits every city resident, including the most vulnerable communities—the homeless, youth, the elderly, undocumented immigrants, the formerly incarcerated and others, who otherwise may have a lot of struggle in obtaining other government-issued ID card

It is, however, imperative that all New Yorkers go out and get one of these ID cards, so that the undocumented immigrants and other not so fortunate communities are not singled out and not subjected to discrimination for having only this ID card as their primary identification.
